Two of the UK’s leading adjudicators, Matt Molloy and Jonathan Cope are sharing their vast knowledge and experience with the release of their inaugural book, “Adjudicating Construction and Engineering Disputes.” The book provides a comprehensive guide to the process of construction industry adjudication from the perspective of the adjudicator. It covers the whole process of adjudication, from the initial enquiry through case management, the conduct of the proceedings, the production of the Decision and post-Decision matters. The purpose is to provide a resource for aspiring and practising adjudicators, both in the UK and internationally.

The round table discussion, entitled “Adjudication – Lessons from other jurisdictions and the Irish perspective’ will be followed by a book signing of "Adjudicating Construction and Engineering Disputes".

Matt was honoured to have been asked to speak at the inaugural Conflict Avoidance Conference on 2 October at Westminster. Together with Franco Mastrandrea, HKA, and moderated by Raj Sohal, RICS, the panel gave their views on “how to be a conflict resolution specialist”, looking at real life examples and best practice and to help proactively avoid conflict and facilitate early resolution of potential disputes.

Matt will join Louise Smith at Gowling WLG for the CIArb’s West Midlands Branch Adjudication Seminar. Matt and Louise will look at the influence of UK statutory adjudication across other jurisdictions and make comparisons between the UK and other models, including the pros and cons of each.
